Chiropractic Adjustments Effingham, IL

Chiropractic Adjustments

A chiropractic adjustment can make you feel so much better. Your body does not want to be out of alignment, and that’s exactly what an adjustment can help address. It is also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation. The adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. A chiropractic adjustment will assist in fixing these issues.

The goal of chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, increase the range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our compassionate and qualified chiropractor will work with you to relieve this pain and get you back to being pain free every single day.

A chiropractic adjustment involves high velocity thrusts applied to the vertebra, relieving sensation, discomfort, and spasms in the surrounding muscles. It also releases joint cavitation, which is caused by the release of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide.

Although many people visit their chiropractor and have an adjustment when something feels out of alignment, a regular visit will help you avoid any pain in the future and will keep your body feeling great all day long.

If you are having one of those days when you are not in the best mood, an adjustment may actually help. Your body will feel much better, which will naturally improve your mood.

Corrective Exercises

Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.

Chiropractic care is not just for adults. In fact, more and more parents are seeing the many benefits of their children seeing a chiropractor every single day. Some of the benefits are improved sleep, improved behavior and attitude, and improved immune system function. Children encounter many physical stresses in their life that you may not realize. These stresses can cause your child’s spine to have issues in growth and development.

X-Rays Effingham, IL

Digital X-Rays

One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology, such as a possible tumor or fracture, and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.

Custom Orthotics and Alignment Issues

Custom orthotics can help support proper foot function, improve stability, and address alignment issues that may contribute to discomfort in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, or lower back. Because the feet are the foundation of the body, even small imbalances can affect posture, movement, and overall spinal alignment.

At Rhodes To Health Chiropractic, we evaluate how your feet and body work together to determine whether custom orthotics may be helpful for your condition. Orthotics are designed to provide support where your body needs it most, helping improve balance, reduce stress on joints, and support healthier movement patterns throughout the day.

If you are dealing with recurring pain, poor posture, uneven wear on your shoes, or alignment-related discomfort, custom orthotics may be an important part of your care plan.

Class IV Laser Treatment Effingham, IL

Class IV Laser Treatment

Our office uses a Class IV laser from Summus. We use this laser to help patients heal faster by increasing oxygen to the deeper tissues than we were able to get with an ultrasound machine. We also use the laser as part of our Peripheral Neuropathy program to restore better function and healing as noted below.

Pain Patterns: The Summus Class IV laser has been used to treat neck injuries from motor vehicle accidents, ear infections, migraine headaches, sinus infections, bursitis, rotator cuff strains and tears. The laser is also used to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, golfer’s and tennis elbow, sciatic pain, disc degeneration, ACL/PCL injuries, Baker’s cysts, Osgood Schlatter’s, post knee-replacement pain, arthritis, heel pain, and plantar fasciitis.

Peripheral Neuropathy: Are you experiencing pain, numbness, burning, tingling, or loss of feeling because of neuropathy? 42.5 million Americans suffer yearly. It’s not uncommon for some to entirely lose the feeling in their feet and hands, frequently fall because of the loss of sensation, or suffer debilitating pain that limits their enjoyment of life. The laser increases oxygen, draws nutrients to the area, and reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain.
